Why Skims Are The Best Work From Home Clothes

Before we jump into why the Skims line is amazing, I wanted to apologize for being MIA but with covid, work, life and Created by Fortune, I’ve on the struggle bus. 😩 Since I’ve been working from home for both my 9-5 and my personal endeavors, balancing my schedule and making time for myself has been tough. I always say that when I look good, I feel good but lately I haven’t been taking my own advice. I typically look homeless everyday and feel like a chaotic mess. I finally put my foot down and committed to organizing and setting myself up for success. Besides all the other stuff I need to do to get back on track, finding cute comfortable clothing has been at the top of my list.

Earlier in the pandemic, a friend recommended Skims to me. And although I begrudgingly placed a small order, I already made up my mind to hate it for a multitude of reasons:

1. As a designer, whose worked on celebrity brands in the past, it’s annoying that most of these brands aren’t good but because of money, access and fandom they’ll most likely succeed.

2. Don’t even get me started on the Kardashians and culture appreciation but I have to say that I respect the work that Kim has done and is currently still doing for prison reform and getting people out of jail.

3. Behind the scenes, celebrity brands are just a nightmare in general.

Skims has surprised me in a lot of ways. The fabrics are actually good, nice and thick with a great hand feel. But the number one thing that keeps me coming back is the fit. God bless the fit designers on the Skims team, lol. Not only does everything fit like a glove from bras, shorts, leggings + rompers but they’re also super comfortable. Skims has definitely upgraded my WFH experience and I hope it will for you as well.
