The Fall 2021 Trends That I Love

Guys, I absolutely love fall! I love the crisp air, layering my clothes and of course rocking boots. Each season, it’s always fun to see what trends trickle down from the runway and which ones have staying power. In this post I’m breaking down my top 10 fall 2021 trends for this season and where you can shop to get these looks.

Let know which trend you like the best!

Blazer dresses

This is the dress that started my love affair with blazer dresses. I purchased it from & Other Stories last fall for my birthday, I love that it has an edgy feel to it with drop shoulders and exaggerated sleeves. These dresses are also versatile as well, you can dress them up with heels or add some edge with combat boot or funky loafers.

Oversized Blazer

fall 2021 trend oversized blazers

For the past few months, I’ve been stocking up on blazers. They’re perfect for layering and can be wore literally over anything. I love the way oversized blazers look over mini dresses, bike shorts, etc. The one in the photo is from Zara, check out the round up below of similar options.

Clogs

Gucci platform clogs

I’m as surprised by this as you, lol. I never thought I would be into clogs again, my last pair was from Steve Madden in like 1994-ish.

I’m really digging everything retro right. I got these platform clogs from Gucci. They’re rubber with a perforated logo design at the top. I’ll definitely be wearing these all fall with socks.

Cargo Pants

Cargo/ utility pants have been trending for a while, styles range from super edgy to basic. Clearly I’m always going to steer near the edgy route, lol. These pants are from Apartment 202

Voluminous Trousers

Voluminous Trousers from free people

Ugh give me all the volume! These pants have been my obsession since I purchased them from Free people a few months ago, lucky for you guys, they’ve been restocked and currently available in all sizes.

Faux Leather

Fal l2021 trends faux leather

Faux leather isn’t going anywhere kiddos and is always trending for Fall. I wasn’t a big fan in the past mainly because I felt that the fabric always looked cheap but the qualities I’ve been seeing from low end to high end have been pretty decent. The pair I have on are from H&M and although this pair has sold out, I’ve found some other options for you below.

Loafers

Maison Valentino derby creeper loafers

Loafers really started to peak last spring but what I’m really loving are the no loafer styles like creepers, derby, etc. I got these Valentino derby shoes last spring and they’re hella dope. I’ll be looking to add a cool but more traditional loafer to my closet soon. I’m leaning towards the chunky platform Prada loafers.

Puff Sleeves

Nasty gal Puff sleeves

I used to love me some puff sleeves in the early 2000s. I had this ruffle button down blouse with puff sleeves from express and when I wore it, you couldn’t tell me shit! 😂 So now here we are almost 20 years later 🥴 and my love for puff sleeves is officially back. I got this number from Nasty gal a few weeks ago and it’s still available.

Printed Bottoms

Printed trousers

Printed trousers have always been around but I’m loving how now everything is printed whether it’s denim, twill, flare leg, straight leg or wide leg, everyone is doing it. Prints just make me happy and I love seeing everyone on the gram play with color and print.

Asymmetrical

Fall 2021 trends asymmetrical pieces

I saved the best for last, asymmetrical pieces are by far my favorite fall 2021 trend, as a designer, there is just something so beautiful about playing with lines and seam details. Unfortunately the look I’m wearing is old and not available, the top is from Zara and the bottoms are from Source unknown. Check out some of these options below.

Happy Shopping,

xoxo
