The Met Gala is by far one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year. Each year, a theme that correlates back to the fashion exhibit is announced and each year we are left disappointed by the sheer amount of celebs that don’t give us the looks that we deserve! This year’s Met Gala theme is gilded glamour which could mean a myriad of different things. One being fashion and stylings literally from the gilded ages (1805-1915), gold, gold, gold and more gold and/or anything over the top. Gilded to me brings to mind, volume, gold, corsets, hoop skirts and drama.
Here is a round up of a few of my favorite looks, I love when the outfit fits into the theme in some way, shape or form and if not, then what’s the point?
Shoutout to the celebs such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Gabrielle Union, Quest love, Riz Ahmed and a few others who that paid homage to the marginalized people of the gilded ages.
