How to Dress Like Wednesday Addams!
Last month, Netflix finally released it’s much anticipated original series Wednesday which follows a teenage Wednesday Addams as she navigates life at Nevermore academy boarding school. And let me tell you, the show did not disappoint! Jenna Ortega did an amazing job putting her own stamp on a beloved character that was masterfully done in the 90’s by Christina Ricci. Jenna is such an amazing talent, I can’t wait to see what else she does in her career and of course where they’ll take the storyline for Wednesday next.
Costume designer, Colleen Atwood did a phenomenal job of keeping some of the original elements that are classic to the franchise and also infusing some modern elements into the character’s looks. My absolute favorite was the organza Alaia ruffle dress worn by Wednesday in the prom scene. 🖤
I love moody and goth/ gothic shit so it was almost serendipitous that randomly after I watched the series, I was inundated with moody, black pieces that would fit perfectly into Wednesday’s aesthetic. Actually I take that back, not random because GOOGLE AND SIRI ARE ALWAYS LISTENING, LOL! 👀 But anywho that inspired me to do a round up of some of my favorite pieces online.
