I know I’m late 😩 but I still wanted to share this whiskey based cocktail recipe that I crafted a few years ago for Juneteenth. I used black owned whiskey brand, Uncle Nearest. Uncle Nearest was a former slave who taught Jack Daniels how to distill and is also the first African-American master distiller on record in the United States.
Introducing the Negro Spiritual, a refreshing cocktail made in celebration of Juneteenth. The perfect cocktail to make at home.
-2 oz Uncle Nearest Whiskey (Black owned)
-1 oz lemon juice
-1 oz earl grey tea
-1 oz rose simple syrup
Add all ingredients to shaker with ice, shake for 15 secs.
Serve in a chilled coupe glass, garish with crushed rose petals.
